Shaving the Yak

Ahhh...it's been a while. I'm starting to get disturbed by my own frequency drop in posting here.

But! Doesn't mean I've been resting my butt off all month long (just half the time) -- I've been stuck trying to innovate my own Python text adventure based on Classes. After a long bath I finally got the idea to make a room-to-room exploration game to figure out whether you're in the house of a vampire or werewolf, but another week of pondering later, I decided the game would be so predictable (just check for garlic!) that it would end up pretty anticlimactic. Also classes are kinda terrible for text adventures imo, just plain functions do the trick far more efficiently.

So I've quit development on the monster game and moved back to Learn Python the Hard Way, Ex46. And oh, yak shaving.....you're a nasty devil indeed. I've never been able to download moderately complex stuff from the web without having it royally screw up, and now with a whole list of "packages" I have to install I'm just wondering hey, maybe I should be a janitor.

Final quip: until I started this blog, I had never realized how little creative/personal writing I've actually done in my life. Still trying to find my own voice here. Someday...
