Double post!
Damn, coding is awesome. Suddenly I can hold my own for 200+ lines of code! All in a day's work even.
Sneak peek at my game in progress, The Land Beyond:

Even programming a friendly name-input system is super tedious, but I guess it's all part of software design. I've programmed much more than this, so more to come! Also the Land Beyond is a taken game title but I just discovered that while writing this post so arghghgh I'll see what to rename it to.
My personal faves among text-based games are the Choice Of Games series on mobile (particularly Broadsides and the Dragon), and You Find Yourself in a Room by Eli Piilonen. Right now I'm heading towards more of the COG's direction (with pre-written options for the player to choose), but soon I'll experiment with YFYIAR's style of free player input. it allows for a lot more philosophy in the gameplay, and as a huge philosophical geek I really hope to make something of that caliber someday. Signing out. Fight on!
